Glenview Park District - September 24th, 2016

I've had a couple of really great days shooting for the Glenview Park District this past summer, here are just a few of my shots from a couple weekends ago.

Kilbuck Creek

I just wanted to take a little bit of time tonight to try and help out any potential brides who are starting to plan their 2017 weddings. This past summer I had the honor to photograph a wedding at Kilbuck Creek in Monroe Center, Illinois. Let me tell you something, this place was absolutely stunning.

Now keep in mind, Kilbuck Creek is located just south of Rockford, and is a modest hour and a half drive from Downtown of Chicago. Now I know brides from all over the place will read this, but a majority of my clientele is located in and around the Chicago area and I'm going to speak directly to them in these next couple of sentences. Why would I be promoting a wedding venue that far away from home? Exactly for that reason. This is your dream getaway wedding venue with your closest friends and family. But... it's still easily within reach for all of your other guests whom you want to share in your big day.

Kilbuck Creek is a a family owned retreat venue that is secluded, exclusive, and completely original from your traditional corporate wedding venues. You will feel at home from the second you arrive for your wedding weekend. That is if home was a giant log cabin capable of housing 25 of your closest friends and family, situated on 200 acres of forest, with your own private indoor pool and spa.

As a photographer, I can honestly say this was one of the most picturesque venues I have ever had the honor to work at. From the outdoor wedding pergola, to the stunning reception hall, this place had it all.

If you are searching for a retreat venue for your wedding, do yourself a favor and check out Kilbuck Creek. Their website can be found at or you can reach them by phone at (815)-393-3247. They also have a Facebook page at

Lyla Martin

This photoshoot with the beautiful Lyla meant a lot to me. First and foremost, Lyla's dad is and has been one of my best friends for a large portion of my life. Being introduced to Lyla feels as if our family has gotten bigger by one and I love that feeling. Secondly, my entire business was started a number of years ago with a shoot exactly like this one. I had a close friend who had his first baby, and knowing my passion for photography, him and his wife asked me if I would take pictures of their baby. Now, a number of years later, I'm still here using my passion to capture beautiful memories for families all around me. Hope you all enjoy this set of my new best friend, "Marty the one baby party"!
